Description

My name is Philippa and I am a full spectrum Doula and Hypnobirthing instructor.

I live in Worksop with my husband and my son, who I gave birth to in 2021 which was still a time of uncertainty with COVID19. After a fair few years over infertility  and treatments, I spent majority of my pregnancy ill with hyperemesis gravidarum (extreme pregnancy sickness). Thankfully, with the help of medication, my sickness settled around 28 weeks. I had to advocate for myself a lot throughout my pregnancy as I had to attend all of my appointments alone. Because of this I made it my mission to learn as much as I could about everything I faced, making sure I had all the information I needed to have open discussions with my healthcare providers about what was best for me. Fast forward to my birth, an amazing water birth in the midwife led unit.

I have always been fascinated and passionate about everything related to pregnancy, birth, babies, breast/chest feeding and women’s health. As soon as m eyes were opened to the world of doulaing, I knew it was the right place for me to be.

As your Doula, I will always be by your side supporting, advocating, listening and providing you with the best evidence-based knowledge I have. I will signpost you on to further education and I even have a nice selection of books that would be available for you to borrow. I can support you from pre-conception all the way to postpartum period.

I have experience supporting both home and hospital births, including VBAC/HBAC and planned c-sections.

I am Continuum Doula, meaning I can provide you with a more comprehensive continuity of care compared to the standard Doula model.

I am a trained Peer supporter with one of the leading Breastfeeding charities and I also work as a volunteer Doula for my local council, supporting vulnerable and at risk mothers and parents.

I welcome all women and birthing people of every race, ethnicity and religion, the LGBTQ+ community and those from marginalised groups
